Japan's Gold-Benz Driving Rap Sensation - SHO

Japan's Gold-Benz Driving Rap Sensation - SHO

We feature Japanese artists and musicians on Sabukaru quite often. From emerging rap talents to pioneering electronic musicians, avant-garde music groups and underground DJs, the music spectrum of Japan is quite large. But the artist we're about to show you today is unlike any other we've showcased. He's a rapper, racked up millions of likes and views on TikTok, is a YouTuber, has his own brand & label, used to be on the Japan National Ski Team, and drives a completely gold Benz. Meet rap sensation SHO.

Born in 1982, SHO aka S.TIME aka POP SHO is a rapper who has not only been making waves in Japan but worldwide. With his songs like "DANKE" and "DÖNER KEBAB", SHO has the youth of Germany going absolutely nuts. His early life was full of skiing, starting training with his dad at the age of 5. At the age of 17, he was on the Junior National Ski Team, and at 19 he was on the National Ski Team. But after an injury, SHO was having second thoughts about whether or not to continue skiing. That was when he found out about hip hop, which became his motivation.

After realizing the power of hip hop, SHO decided to make it his career, and empower people himself. In 2007, SHO debuted with the streets, clubs, and YouTube as his battlegrounds, instantly becoming a sensation. His single "Yakubutsu was Yamero" [Stop Doing Drugs], which samples O.T. Genasis' song "CoCo", became a massive hit, kicking his fame off to another level.

Today, SHO is on the streets of Tokyo very often and you can instantly spot his blinged-out gold Benz when he is. He's even made a track, called "Outdated Gold Benz", since he bought his Benz used. There is too much good content out there with SHO, from his songs like "I Like Sushi" to his vlogs where he is always getting checked by police for looking suspicious [most cops in Tokyo know who he is at this point].

A living legend, a meme, and everything in between go check SHO's content out when you get the chance.
