The world is familiar with Kiko’s sweet grin and fierce catwalk.
Today, the 31-year-old is more than an accomplished supermodel, because she’s a multifaceted powerhouse, changing the fashion and entertainment industry worldwide one step at a time.
Born Audrie Kiko Daniel in 1990 to a Zainichi Korean mother and American father, she lived briefly grew up in Texas but spent most of her childhood in Kobe, Japan. She started her modeling career in Japan at age 12, and her younger sister Ashley Yuka also followed that path. Her career blossomed when she got chosen as the best new face for the Japanese magazine Seventeen. From there, Kiko took on the name Kiko Mizuhara and based herself in Tokyo. branched out into diverse fields.
She’s best known for her colorful and flirty style, as she displays on her social media, and her fondness for nature. Her magnetic personality attracted the likes of popular magazines, like Vogue, Nylon, and Harper’s Bazaar, but also brands. She has walked for the most prestigious Fashion Weeks, and was a good friend of the legendary Karl Lagerfeld.
In a girly-meets-acid fashion, Kiko has charmed the world multiple times, not only with her unique look but with her talent and creativity. A lesser-known side of her is that she is a prolific actress, having featured in films directed by moguls like Mika Ninagawa, along with various TV shows, including her own, Kiko Kikaku.
Her career is as fruitful as ever, but one thing stands out: her brand Office Kiko, also known as OK. Directed by Kiko herself, the fashion brand OK specializes in sustainable clothing, eclectic art, and funky collaborations, and it is heavily inspired by gyaru fashion. More recently, Tokyo has been on a kaleidoscopic roll with her party monster rave event, titled WET. Needless to say, Kiko Mizuhara is easily one of the coolest girls in the city, if not the entire world.
